SPM has determined research and innovation as its fundamental competitive strategy since its establishment. For this purpose, the necessary laboratory infrastructure for polymer chemistry, formulation studies, and quality control has been established within the company. Rheological, calorimetric, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis are carried out in the SPM laboratory. In addition, the laboratories of METU, Bilkent, and Anadolu Universities are also utilized.

All SPM prepreg systems have been developed in-house, and new formulation studies are ongoing. Collaborations established with reputable universities enable research and development activities tailored to the needs of high-value-added sectors. R&D activities are also conducted for the specific needs of establishments under NDA contracts with leading industrial organizations in our country. Significant capacity in pilot production stage for R&D projects that have reached the serial production lines is allocated.
